Corwen

Corwen is now progressing very well all the base boards have been completed and a big thanks to Don for them he spent a long time getting them right as Don does not do alterations.

The layout has 6 front boards all 2'6" by 4' with 6 boards on the back all 2' by 4'. There will then be 4  boards all 2' by 4' for each ends.

Whilst designing the boards we are planning on how the layout is going to transport the layout to exhibitions. The team has learned a lot whilst transporting Dolgellau around as that was never designed to be transported.

The next task was to get all the track and point work laid which has been completed now and I especially appreciate all the work that George, Don and Bill have put in to get this all done whilst I have been working out of the country

The main task now is to get all the electrics done which has got a bit of a delay on due me being out of the country but hopeully most of that work will be done in March when I return.

George is hard at work getting the buildings built which means everyone now has the exciting job of building trees and we need so many it is unbelievable

Well now that I have returned to the UK things are starting to move on the wireing appart from the fact that while I was away the other members of the team found a new way to control the points. So we are now well on the way to implementing the MegaPoints system. We now have all the control boards we need the only thing is the wiring is slightly different compaired with normal point control.

As we have got 33 points to deal with the wiring is alot easyer to connect up and the control boards have gone from 9 RJ45 (8 connections) to1 RJ45 and these will have the addition of the mimic boards which will have the buttons for the points and LED's to show which way the points are.

The layout recently was at Corwen for the opening of the new Llangollen Railway Station. It was well recieved with lots of locals comeing in for a look.
